JENNIFER BENHAM
Jennifer grew up in Washington State where she began her
ballet training at the age of four. After dancing at Academy
of Ballet Arts, Washington State Ballet, and Columbia Dance
Ensemble she was rewarded a scholarship to dance at The
School of Oregon Ballet Theatre. There she received excellent
training in different styles, mainly Balanchine, and Vaganova.
At age sixteen she was asked to tour with Oregon Ballet
Theatre's professional company on their Nutcracker tour.
She then graduated High School early to dance as an apprentice
to the company the following year. After her year with the
company, she got to spend the summer training at Pacific
Northwest Ballet.
Following her experience she decided to continue on with
her education by attending Brigham Young University on a
dance scholarship. This is her third year dancing on Brigham
Young University's Theatre Ballet Company. With them she
has toured to California, Nevada, and Colorado. She is receiving
a double major in Dance and Athletic Training at BYU, where
both Her and her husband are finishing up their degrees.
Jennifer has had wonderful opportunities to teach here in
Utah as it has become one of her passions along with dancing.
She loves to help the students grow in their ballet technique,
as well as assisting them with injury prevention. She is
proud of the accomplishments of the students at Center Stage,
and is excited to be involved.
